CloseScale ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website closescale.com and the CloseScale software platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, or use our Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

3.3 Payment information

We do not store full payment card numbers. Subscriptions and payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes payment details, billing address, and tax information at checkout. See Section 5.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service

  • Monitor usage, prevent fraud, and protect the security of our systems
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Paddle as Merchant of Record

When you purchase a paid subscription, your transaction is processed by Paddle.com Market Limited and/or its affiliates ("Paddle"). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all paid orders. This means Paddle is the legal seller of the subscription and handles payment processing, invoicing, applicable sales tax and VAT, and certain customer billing inquiries.

Paddle processes your payment data under its own privacy policy. We receive limited billing information from Paddle (such as subscription status, plan, transaction ID, and country) to provision and manage your account.

Review Paddle's policies:

  • Paddle Privacy Policy
  • Paddle Buyer Terms

6. Sharing Your Information

We may share data with:

  • Paddle: payment and subscription processing
  • Infrastructure providers: hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics (e.g., Cloudflare)
  • Integration partners: calendar, email, and data providers you connect to the Service
  • Professional advisers: lawyers, accountants, or insurers where required
  • Authorities: when required by law or to protect rights and safety

All service providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:

  • Account data: for the life of your account plus up to 24 months after closure, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • Waitlist data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Billing records: as required for tax, accounting, and dispute resolution (typically 7 years where applicable).
  • Support communications: up to 3 years after resolution.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to operate the site and optional analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.
